nice story. i have had similar experiences. as a male RN, pt’s are often aprehensive about me giving that care. as the years have gone by, it has gotten easier to deal with.
hang in there. it is tough to deal with office politics, but try to stay focused on the real reason you do what you do, etc.

Thanks for your comments Brian. I’ve not posted in a while due to crazy busy work and life schedules, but I am planning to post an interesting 12 lead in a day or two. It stumped our expert and our Cardiologist, so I’d love your input. Have a beautiful day, AnnieC

Thanks for the tip. I will try that for my next post, which is a complex 12 lead that even our expert had some difficulty with. The Cardiologist we use was also a little stumped, but came up with a reasonable rationale for it…

Have you tried enlarging the strips with Paint first and then posting them online? Don’t know if it would work or not, but it would be nice to see the strips where there was more detail.

Hi there, just stumbled across your site while trying to show my wife a A-Fib strip, so i googled and one you’d posted showed up. Anyway, your blog kinda caught my eye, wanted to reply to this post, most important, always remember to look to the patient, no matter what the monitor says. I’m a CCU RN, so Tele is my bread & butter, and i’ve seen some crazy strips that even a cardiologist would swear was VT and turns out to be CPT or brushing teeth. Anyway, thought i’d post a comment, nice blog.

Not to be flip, but it sounds like she’s just a toxic, burned-out old hag. Don’t let her get to you…you did everything right, and she sounds like one of those people who will always be “right” even if she’s clearly wrong. Usually I avoid people like that, and if I absolutely can’t avoid them, I minimize any interaction with them.

Anyway. You did everything right, and I’m glad the night RT is helping you learn. Having the initiative to ask questions and learn means you’ll be an awesome, successful student.
